Robert “Bob” Chamberlin

Robert Arthur “Bob” Chamberlin, age 69, of Baldwin, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at the Minneapolis Veterans Hospital. Bob was born in Chetek, Wisconsin on November 24, 1941 to Everett and Emma (Pearsoll) Chamberlin. He graduated from high school (Ladysmith) and joined the Marine Corps. He earned the rank of corporal and for a time was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

After his time in the Marines, he attended Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in New Richmond, WI where he earned his Associates Degree in Machine and Tool. He was a mechanic for many years, Smith Implement in Baldwin, drove truck for many years for Wilson Truck line in St. Paul, and operated his own business, Bob’s Job Shop in Baldwin, before retiring in 2004.

In 1977 Bob married Connie Mask; she passed away in 2001. He married Joan Smith on December 30, 2004. Bob enjoyed fishing and boating on rivers and lakes, going to the casino, going off-road trucking, tractor pulls and demolition derbies. He loved spending time with his wife, family and friends and having family barbeques. Bob was a volunteer at the Impact Recovery Center in Baldwin and provided love and support to guys that needed it. He was a man of faith, good character and honesty, had a great love for helping others, and many people in the area have been touched by his life.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joan; his children, Tom (Sarah) Kerns of Geneva, MN, Aleta Mullens of Antioch, CA, Brenda Ostrander of Menomonie, WI, Lori Hawkins of AR, Lisa (Steven) Ersland of Menomonie, WI, Bob (Kim) Chamberlin of Menomonie, WI, Dwayne Chamberlin of Baldwin, WI, and Michelle (Neil) Krischen of Little Rock, AR; his stepchildren, John (Kim)Kelly of Amery, WI, Albert (Michelle) Kelly of Boyceville, WI, and Todd Kelly of Baldwin; his siblings, Kate, Virginia, Lorraine, Lois, Claude, and Charlotte; thirty-five grandchildren, and fifty-four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons, Glen and Aaron, his first wife, Ruby, his second wife, Connie, and five siblings.

Funeral services will be held at Living Word Chapel, Hwy 64, in Forest, WI on Sunday, August 21, 2011. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 and the funeral service will begin at 3:00. A lunch will be served following the service. Pastor Randy Dean will officiate. He will be cremated and his ashes will be spread at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Maplewood, MN on August 26th, family and friends are welcome. Services have been entrusted to O’Connell Funeral Home and Countryside Cremation Services of Baldwin, 715-684-3434.
