Robert “Bob” Chryst

Robert Edmund Chryst, age 84 of Hudson, formerly of Burkhardt, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021 at Comforts of Home in Hudson. He was born on January 19, 1937 in Burkhardt, WI, to parents H. Clayton and Gladys (Jiles) Chryst. After graduating from Hudson High School, he enlisted in the United States Military where he proudly served as an Army medic.

Bob was united in marriage to Betty Lou in September 1956 and together they were blessed with four children. Bob worked as a realtor for many years and started his own business, Chryst Realty. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved being out in the boat fishing for muskies and hunting with his beloved game dogs. He was also an award-winning trap shooter. His happy place was outdoors, in the woods or on the water. He was very proud that he was able to design and build their home on Bone Lake in Milltown with help from friends and family. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately called him Grandpa Ho-Ho. He was always quick with a joke or a witty comeback, keeping his family, friends, and caregivers smiling.

He will remain in the hearts of his wife Betty Lou; children Brian (Jean) Chryst, Wendy Chryst, Eric ( Kris) Chryst, and Jennifer (Brian Heinz) Chryst; grandchildren Jessica, Bryan, Braden, Sam, Addisyn, Connor, Isabelle, Niko, Melissa, and Aaron; great grandchildren Madison, Isla, Jeren, Jaisa, Emilee, Ella, and Orin; siblings Bill Chryst and Nancy Chryst.

He is preceded in death by his parents H. Clayton and Gladys; sisters Eleanor and Mary; brothers Clayton, Donald, and David.

A memorial service for Bob will be on July 6, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Dresser, WI, with visitation preceding the service from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
