Robert “Bob” Gilles

Bob (Dad) passed away peacefully in his home after a very abrupt, sudden battle with cancer on Aug 4, 2023. He will be missed by so many of us.

As an avid Minnesota sports fan, he would banter with his sons during every Vikings game about how the game was going; he had the best laughs when we lost. Well Dad… “58th time is the charm!” Super Bowl here we come! SKOL!

Pictured here is Bob and his two sons (Mike and Eric) when we had just finished waiting 18 hours in the hospital for mom’s surgery with her own battle with cancer, on July 7th.

Dad was experiencing abdominal pain that day but powered through it to be there for his wife. Diagnosed himself on July 14th with his own cancer… (pancreatic and liver) he ended his life being the selfless person he was his entire life – always caring about others first.

Rest in peace in the love and arms of your savior, Jesus Christ.  We love you dad!

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 7401 County Rd 101 Maple Grove, MN 55311.  Visitation with food reception from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Service at 2:00 p.m. with private internment to follow.
