Robert “Bob” Zwald, age 101, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Baldwin Care Center. Bob was born on April 15, 1917, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Charles and Elisa (Trautz) Zwald. On June 27, 1951, Bob was united in marriage to Mary A. Kosbab at Peace Church in St. Paul, MN. In 1962, Bob moved the family farm from Lake Elmo, Minnesota to Hammond, Wisconsin.

Bob will always be remembered as a farmer, as well as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Bob will remain in the hearts of his wife, Mary Zwald; children, Greg (Irma) Zwald, Robert F. (Kay) Zwald, Ruth Zwald; grandchildren, Nate (Angela) Zwald, Sarah (Justin) Jorgensen, Amy (Chris) Majeski, Taran (Catherine) Staal, Tanya Zwald, Stephanie (Jason) Wipf, Alisabeth (Ricky) Ballou, Annette (Steve) Schalla, Tom (Ashley) Zwald, Andrew (Kim) Zwald; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Arlene Goebel and Patricia (Richard) Floyd; and other extended family as well as numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elisa; sister, Marcella; brothers-in-law, Claude, Richard, Leo Kosbab, and Burt Goebel.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, WI, as well as one hour prior to the service. A Memorial Service for Bob will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 10, 2018, at First Reformed Church of Baldwin. Private Interment will take place in the Baldwin Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, WI.
