Robert C. ‘Jake’ Jacobs, age 74, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 15, 2019 at his home in Hudson, WI. Bob was born on February 16, 1945, the son of Robert D. and Lorraine (Cronk) Jacobs. He graduated from Hudson High School and went on to obtain a college degree from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Bob had a respected career with the 3M company for 42 years and eventually retired as the Director of Global Facilities Management. On June 29, 1984, he was married to Jerilyn Jacobs and the couple soon departed for Italy on a four-year “honeymoon.”

When Bob married Jerilyn, he gained an instant family with Jason, Julie, Josh, Jesseka and later welcomed Alex signaling the end of the “honeymoon”. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with the family creating memories, whether it be at Cedar lake, in Arizona, or at home. Bob bailed the kids out of countless, sticky situations because he always wanted them to know he supported them (not always their decisions). Against all odds, Bob learned to appreciate his children-in-law: Joel, Sarah, Troy, and Wendy. Bob was proud to be a devoted and loving husband to Jerilyn, a supportive and encouraging father, and a fun-loving ‘Bumpa’ to his grandchildren.

Bob will be remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Jerilyn; children, Jason (Wendy), Jule (Joel-Man), Josh (Sarah), Jess (Troy), and Alex; grandkids, Brittanie, Ivy, Gabester, Kelsey, Braden, Jaguar, Emmi, Brooklyn, Evan, Morgan, Tysen, and Jamesen; siblings, Lani (Charlie), and Gary; his mother, Lorraine; two nieces, one nephew; two great nieces, other extended family, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Jacobs; and a niece, Heather.

An INFORMAL Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held from 4 – 7 PM on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI. Casual attire is encouraged.

Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI.
