Robert Eric Kamm, age 43 of Hammond, WI, passed away on April 29, 2024. Born in Waterloo, IA on November 24, 1980, Rob was the cherished son of Charles Kamm and Rita and Michael Finley. Rob graduated from Baldwin Woodville High School with the class of 1999 and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, where he earned his degree in marketing.

Fondly remembered for his passion for fishing, golf, and mushroom hunting, Rob was a man with a heart of gold and a selfless nature. As a General Manager at McCormick and Schmick’s in Edina, he was a dedicated worker who often sacrificed his holidays to ensure his staff could enjoy some well-deserved time off with their families. Beyond his work, Rob found joy in the simple things in life, like spending time with his treasured family, friends and pets.

Rob is survived by his parents Charles Kamm and Rita (Michael) Finley; sister Christina (Jeff) Carpenter; nephew Nathan Carpenter; niece Libby Carpenter; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents as well as his nephew Jonathan Carpenter.

A gathering of friends and family to honor Rob’s memory will be held at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Our hearts ache at the loss of such a kind and generous soul, but we take comfort in the fond memories we shared with Rob, who will forever remain in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Rob’s name to Trout Unlimited (https://www.tu.org/) or the American Liver Foundation (https://liverfoundation.org/).

  1. Rob was a great son. We were very proud of him. Loved to fish and play golf. He called me everyday just to say hello. We never hung up the phone without saying I love you. He is missed…

  2. I had the pleasure of working with Rob for years at McCormick & Schmicks. We alsi would occasionally play golf together. I remember the numerous times he would bring in Morel mushrooms in and chef would cook them up nice. The quantity he would get from his secret mushroom “honey hole” was amazing. He really took joy from getting to share them with us. He was truly a kind soul. He genuinely cared about everyone. I am grateful for all of our times together, and I will very much miss him. My condolences to all the family and other loved ones.
