Robert F Mercord age 84, lifelong resident of Prescott, WI took his last car ride on Friday, December 10th; at home, with his loving family by his side. Bob was the second child of 7 born to Clinton F and Mildred (Cernohous) Mercord on July 19th, 1937. Surviving siblings are Joan Baker, John Mercord, Fred Mercord and Kay Reinhardt. Bob graduated from Prescott High School in 1955 and it was in high school that he met the love of his life, Alice Faye Armbruster. Alice and Bob were high school sweethearts and were joined in Holy Matrimony at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prescott on April 23rd, 1960. From this union Bob and Alice were blessed with five children Tracy (Joe) Franek, Andrea (Todd) Kullmann, Michele (Duword) Kurrelmeyer, Robert (Sheryl) Mercord and Jason Mercord (Sara Schoenrock). Their five children would further bless them with 16 grandchildren; Valerie, Joey and Zachary Franek, Jordan, Brianna, Alyce and Noah Kullmann, Kaitlyn, Kyle and Kali Kurrelmeyer, Justine, Bryce and Seth Mercord and Carson, Corbyn and Chancellor Mercord. As the family grew and grandchildren married Alice and Bob were blessed with 10 great grandchildren; Londyn, Jo Jo, Parker, Austyn, Wilson, Clare, Paige, June, Finnegan and Hendrix. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ronald and Richard and grandson Seth. Faith, Family and Friends were everything to Bob and he lived everyday this way. Strangers were just friends you hadn’t met yet. Whether it was while Bob was working at the Prescott Library or just bumping into him on the street, every child he came in contact with got a nod, wave, peek a boo or some form of acknowledgment. Bob just knew how to make everyone feel special. Bob always enjoyed a good road trip or car ride. When the pandemic hit the car rides were daily as a way to stay sane; Bob and Alice would get in the car, turn on the radio to Willie’s Roadhouse. Drives were all over Pierce and St Croix County; if you heard a double honk outside your home it was Bob driving by saying “hello”.
