Robert R. Barnoski

Robert Ray Barnoski, age 53 of St. Paul, MN, formerly of Stapleton, Nebraska, passed away May 19, 2013 at his residence. Robert was born August 11, 1959 in North Platte, Nebraska; the son of Donald Ernest and Alice May (Romans) Barnoski. Robert graduated High School from Stapleton, Nebraska; the class of 1977. He furthered his education at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and graduated with honors in January of 1982. That winter he entered the United States Marine Corp as a commissioned officer. He served his country as an officer until a debilitating head injury ended his military career. For the next 31 years, Bob continued to be very proud of being part of the Marine Corp family.

Bob was a devout Christian and felt Jesus was an important part of his life. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends. He expressed a great sense of humor and always enjoyed adding a witty quip to any conversation.

Robert is survived by his sister, Donna (Kent) Nelson, of Hudson, WI; nephew, Chase Nelson; niece, Taylor Nelson and her fiancé, Jared Coffin; aunt, Ruth Chrisp of Auburn, NE; special friend, Jaime Becker of St. Paul, MN; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Alice Barnoski and grandparents, Fay and Flora Coty.

Funeral Services will take place 11:30 AM Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3770 Bellaire Ave., White Bear Lake, MN, with Pastor Pam Stofferahn officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Private interment with military honors will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with Pastor Nate Toso officiating. Memorials preferred to Courage Center St. Croix – Stillwater, MN.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson (715) 386-3725.
