Robert Wylie

Robert Douglas ”Bob”” Wylie, age 60 of Glenwood City and formerly of Frederic, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Golden Valley Rehab Center in Golden Valley MN. Bob was born April 4, 1953 in Kenosha, WI to parents Norman Sr. and Ramona (Ecklor) Wylie. Bob was united in marriage in 1973 to Evelyn Dexter. Their union in marriage would be blessed with three children, Gene, Laura, and Jenna.

Bob worked for Hartzell Manufacturing in Turtle Lake, WI for 11 years. His real love was music. He played drums for the band Morgan Marauders, and lead and rhythm guitar for other bands, such as American Flyer, Bootleg, Sweet Jodi, and a bluegrass and gospel band called Glory Train. Bob wrote the song “I Come to You”, which was recorded on a CD with Glory Train. Bob taught his children to play guitar and love music. Bob loved to spend time outdoors, hunting and fishing and enjoyed any time spent with his family. Bob especially liked to cook and grill. He and his siblings did a lot of cookouts, for any and all occasions, and no one left hungry.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Norman Wylie Sr.; his brother, Mark Allen Wylie; his grandparents, Gabriella and Dana Clough; and brother-in-law, Douglas Johnson. He is survived by his children, son Gene (Katie) of Jacksonville, FL, daughter Laura (Robin) Evans of Glenwood City, WI, and daughter Jenna of Topeka, IN; grandchildren, Samuel Johnson, Christa Evans, Derek Wylie, and Samantha (Sami) Wylie; his mother, Ramona (Bruce) Nichols; brothers, Jeff (Daena) of Frederic, WI, and Norman Jr. of St. Paul, MN; sisters, Becky Johnson of St. Croix Falls, WI, and Tina ( John) Davis of Frederic, WI ; ex-wife and friend, Ev Wylie; step-grandson, Jeff Markham; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorial Service for Bob Wylie will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin, WI. 715-684-3434
