Roberta Crawford Saulsbury was born on February 7, 1918 to Dave & Jane Crawford in Grenville, SD. She passed away on September 4, 2014 at the Lutheran home in River Falls, WI.She lived & attended school in Fairmount, ND, graduating in 1936. She attended Wahpeton State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. She went on to school in New York City at the Pratt School of Design in 1941. She lived & worked in New York City with her brothers & families for 4 years waiting for her beloved, Arnie to return from WWII. On January 17, 1944 she united in marriage to the love of her life, Arnold Saulsbury. 4 children were born to this union, Donna, Lois, David & Hal.Roberta was blessed with so many talents. She designed & made stain glass windows for her churches in River Falls & Ladysmith, WI. & gifted many pieces to her family & friends. She was a beautiful seamstress for over 90 years. Teaching sewing for the Singer Co in New York City & other places she lived. Making banners for her church & others. In later years she enjoyed the art of papercutting. Cutting out hundreds of works of art she enjoyed giving to so many.Roberta is survived by her 4 children, Donna (Len) Kaufer of Hastings, MN, Lois (Frank) Cernohous of River Falls, WI, David (Vicky) Saulsbury of Colstrip, MT and Hal (Kris) Saulsbury of Corcoran, MN; 8 grandchildren, Michael (Darcy) Matthys, Scott (Tonya) Cernohous, Sara (Tim) Stukel, Brian (Leanna) Cernohous, Reagan, Leslie & Lori Saulsbury, and Anna (Jeremy) Carlson; 13 great-grandchildren, Lacy & Chase Matthys, Autumn & Travis Cernohous, Frankie, Jaycie & Tevin Stukel, Ariana, Annika, Andin & Alaina Cernohous, and Jace & Karli Carlson. Her sister, Ila Vranish of Santa Barbara, CA.Roberta is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arnold Saulsbury & grandson, Kenneth Matthys. Her parents, siblings, Hal & Ken Crawford, Ardis Tormoehlen & baby sister, Nellie Lucille.Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
