Roberta “Bobby” Gray

Roberta Joy “Bobby” Gray, age 72 of Hudson WI, died early on the morning of November 24, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family. Bobby was born November 30, 1939 in Gary, Indiana to parents Robert Samuel and Elva Virginia (Andersen) Powers. She moved with her family to Madison, WI, where she attended elementary school, and graduated from Madison West High School. Bobby then attended UW-Madison where she earned her degree in nursing.

Bobby worked as a school nurse for the Rondo School in Saint Paul, and for the Stillwater School District as well, but even more so, she enjoyed her time spent as a stay-at-home mom. Bobby would be united in marriage to Milo Arthur Gray on August 7, 1978 in Watertown SD. In her free time, Bobby enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada. She also enjoyed flower gardening and floral arranging. She enjoyed music, playing both the piano and the dulcimer, as well as other instruments.

Bobby was both a gifted painter, and a talented quilt maker. She quilted with others as a member of the Hudson Heritage Quilters. As a quilter, and a woman of faith, Bobby had a simple, inspirational truism that she availed in her life: “A day hemmed in prayer seldom unravels.” A passionate Christian and gifted artist, Bobby shared her love of Christ with all she met. Her beautiful quilts will comfort those she loved. She will be missed by her family and many friends in Christ.
