Roberta Casel

Roberta Rae Casel, age 55, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN after a 4+year battle with breast cancer. Roberta was born on August 8, 1965 in Duluth, MN to parents Ron and Pat (Tarnowski) Riegger. She graduated from La Crescent High School, La Crescent, MN, in 1983 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Wisconsin, Stout.

Roberta was a spitfire from the day she was born until her last breath and would bring fun and joy wherever she would go. Making friends was easy for Roberta. She met the love of her life, Jim Casel, through her brother. Roberta and Jim were married on September 28, 2000, at her dream location in Maui, Hawaii.

Roberta loved fashion and had a very distinct style. She was rarely seen without a hat and her signature (boots with the fur) UGG boots. Cooking was a passion of hers and she had cooking shows on constantly at home. About 90% of the food she made, she gave away. When she wasn’t cooking, you could find her decorating the house for a holiday or for one of her themed parties she loved throwing. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she cared for them with all her heart. Roberta will always be remembered for her joyful personality, her love of family and friends, her giving heart, and her beauty.

Roberta will remain in the hearts of her husband Jim; fur baby Stuart; parents Ron and Pat (Tarnowski) Riegger; brother Rick AKA “Jeb” Riegger, sister-in-law Beth, nephew Gabrial; Aunt Sharen Ewart; best friend Ken AKA “Will” VanNess; In-Laws Paul and Jeanette Casel; brothers-in-law Kevin, Mark, and Greg Casel, and their families, as well as countless dear friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Stanley and Olivia Tarnowski and Bob and Arlene Riegger.

A celebration of life will be held for Roberta on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 4pm – 7pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Social distancing and masks will be required. Memorials will be donated to charities that Roberta was passionate about and loved.
