Rodney “Rod” G. Kouba, age 66, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Nekoosa, WI, died on July 22, 2020 at his home in Hudson.

Rod was born on April 16, 1954 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Lester and Georgia (Rathermel) Kouba. He graduated high school in Nekoosa, WI and later went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse. On May 21, 1977, he was united in marriage to Susan A. Wieland, a marriage that would be blessed with two sons, James and Rodney.

Rod was a family man, and loved spending time together at their cabin. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Sports were always on at his house, with him and Susan being boisterous fans of the Green Bay Packers. Rod loved traveling with his family, and especially enjoyed going on safari in Africa. His granddaughter, Georgia Jane, was the light of his life and he cherished their time together.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, James Kouba and Rodney (Helen) Kouba; granddaughter, Georgia Jane Kouba; siblings: Randy (Sue) Kouba, Renne (Ray) Pinson, Sandra Kouba, and Sherri (Paul Haglund) Kouba; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 5:00-7:00pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson. Masks will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
