Roger Freseman

Roger Alan Freseman, age 69, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, November 10, 2010 at Woodwinds Hospital due to complications of pneumonia.

Roger was born on November 26, 1940 in Huron, SD to C.J. and Elna Freseman. He was born with Down’s syndrome and his parents allowed him opportunities most children were not given at that time. Roger and his mother started a Boy Scout troop for area children with disabilities and Roger achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Following his education, he worked at Country Inn and Suites for many years through Kaposia services. He lived with his mother until the age of 57 and at this time moved to the ACR Home on Fox Run Bay, which became his second family.

Roger enjoyed church activities, music, coloring picture and other office work, but most importantly he established lifelong meaningful relationships with everyone he knew. His family wishes to acknowledge the many caregivers during Roger’s life that loved and accepted him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, CJ and Elna, and his brother, Ray Freseman. Roger is survived by his cousins (and legal guardian), John and Wendy Molis; brother, Gary (Susan) Freseman; sister-in-law, Mary Freseman; cousin, Joanne (Ed) Beebee; family friend, Keith Johnson; and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held for Roger at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 15th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, 715-386-3725. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Friends and family are invited to continue fellowship with a luncheon at his ACR Home. Private interment next to his parents at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ashland, WI. A memorial fund has been established at ACR Homes, 2437 Rice St., Roseville, MN.
