Roger Raehsler

Roger Alan Raehsler, age 72 of El Paso WI, died on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Park View Nursing Home in Woodville. Roger was born May 30, 1939 in Saint Paul MN to parents Joseph and Lillian (Fischer) Raehsler. Roger attended high school at Ellsworth and Spring Valley before enlisting in the US Navy. On November 27, 1961, Roger would be united in marriage to Phyllis Olivia Gaustad. Though the union would later dissolve, their marriage would be blessed with five children.

Roger worked for years with the Andersen Window Corporation, and with St. Croix Manufacturing. Outside of work, Roger enjoyed woodworking, vegetable gardening, tinkering in his garage workshop, and running marathons. Roger enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing card games such as euchre and sheephead. Roger especially liked watching football, and was an avid fan of both the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers.

Roger is survived by daughters Teresa “Teri” (Jim) Sebion of Beldenville, Beth (Dale Caturia) Van Dien of Ellsworth, and Janet Raehsler of Woodville; grandchildren, Cody, Cory, Ashley, Jacob, Jordan and Brooke; siblings Doug (Dixie) Raehsler, Tim (Anne) Raehsler, Duane “Jake” (Susan) Raehsler, and Carol (Chuck) Gregg; special friend, Judy Peterson and her family; former wife Phyllis Raehsler; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his son, Richard Alan Raehsler; daughter Joan Carol Raehsler; his parents, Joseph and Lillian Raehsler; sisters Joyce and Arliss; and brothers Bill, Ronnie, and Gary.

A memorial gathering and celebration of life for Roger Raehsler will be held from 4:00-7:00PM on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street, in Baldwin. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin WI. 715-684-3434
