Roger Rebholz

Roger H. Rebholz, a longtime Hudson resident passed away on April 16, 2019. Roger was raised on dairy farms in southern Wisconsin and remained a farm boy at heart for all his days. After high school he enlisted in the US Army. Taking advantage of the GI Bill after his discharge, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture at UW-Platteville. His career was spent in the Agrifeed industry where he made many life long friends.

Upon moving to Hudson he became actively involved at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. There he served on the Parish council for many years and was active in the Knights of Columbus, achieving the level of Fourth Degree Knight. His rural roots showed in his daily life as he was always willing to help a neighbor, especially the elderly with a project at home.

Roger served two terms on the St. Croix County Board and was its Chairman for a time. He especially enjoyed working with the Transportation Committee.

His retirement years were spent in his favorite pastime—aggravating his wife and best friend of nearly 63 years, Ann and chasing his grandchildren. Even into their eighties he and Ann would make long treks to visit their children and grandchildren.

Roger is survived by his wife Ann, children Vince (Patti) of Knoxville, TN, Nancy (Johnnie) Linto of Lula, GA, Paul (Laura) of Woodbury, and Becky (Patrick) Guenther of Oregon, WI. He will always be in the hearts and habits of his eight grandchildren; Will, Josh, Emily, Rachel, Sarah, Jake, Zeke and Joey. He was preceded in death by father William, mother Susan, brothers and sisters-in-law Jack, Joe and Dee, Arnie and Clarine, Norm, Bill, and sister Leona and Jim Weisensel. Surviving family members are sisters and brothers-in-law Eva and Don Strohmenger, Annie and Ken Schroeder, Sister Teresa Rebholz, and sisters-in-law Rose, Judy, and Diane along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM Saturday April 27th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson. Burial with full military honors will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday April 26th from 5pm to 7pm with a prayer service at 7PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson and one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred to St. Patrick’s Church Building Fund or to the University of Wisconsin Madison Camp Kesem Chapter: https://donate.kesem.org/fundraiser/1800050
