Roger Orva Ware, age 84 unexpectedly closed a chapter on his earthly life September 14, 2024 to begin his new life with his heavenly father. His love of life, optimism & his faith reflected in his gentle spirit.
He was born November 27, 1939 to Fred & Fern Ware in Lamberton, MN where he was baptized, confirmed & was married.
He attended Brookings SD State University, served in the army- had a brief stint in the merchant marines, attended Dunwoody Institute and worked as an electrician. He recently received his 60 year pin from IBEW.
He did several mission trips to Africa, Jamaica, Pine Ridge Indian Res. & volunteered locally on projects. He enjoyed meeting people & helping where he could.
Rog & Gladys were married Feb. 13, 1965 & would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary next year. They traveled many places to experience different cultures, the greatest blessings of their lives were the gift of a daughter Jennifer, her husband Erik Johnson & the delight of grandchildren Akinda (Jack Ackerman) and Nakai Johnson. Family was his greatest joy & fulfillment.
Rog was inquisitive & gifted to be able to fix anything. He liked to know how things worked, not only a puzzle but in the world. He loved to be out in nature—hunting, fishing or just working in the yard, soaking in God’s Creation.
He was preceded in death by his parents & sister Carol.
He is survived by his wife Gladys, daughter Jennifer (Erik) Johnson; granddaughter Akinda (Jack) Ackerman & grandson Nakai Johnson; sister Dawn Tetrick & brother Lee Ware; sisters-in-law & 1 brother -in-law; many nieces & nephews.
We give thanks for his life & for all he left with us, and and for all the friends & neighbors he met along the way.

I remember our block party at your place. The hog was cooked by Roger, and helpers. Was a fun day! Roger was usually the one that came home first when I babysat Jennifer so many years ago.
I’m sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers for you.
Sorry to hear about Roger, I will be out of town on Friday and Saturday, so can not be at the memorial service.
So many things to remember with Roger. Hunting and fishing together many times, also together with our good buddies and wives as well. I will miss my good, gentle friend.
Thoughts and prayers with you and your family Ruth

I just learned of Roger’s passing, and send Gladys and his family my deepest condolences. I know Roger and Gladys as class participants in my classes at the YMCA. Roger brought his smile and warm heart and spread it to the whole class. He always greeted me with a hug and shared funny stories and genuinely cared. Through the years, I have seen less of Roger in my classes, but every once in awhile he would walk by and see me teaching a class. He would pop into the class while I was teaching, give me a hug and say hi in the middle of class. I loved it, and will sure miss him!
