Rolland Krauss

Rolland ”Rollie”” H. Krauss, age 75, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Ellsworth, WI, passed away on December 12, 2015 at Comforts of Home in Hudson.

He was born on February 29, 1940 to Howard and Elizabeth “Libby” (Mack) Krauss in Red Wing, MN. Along with his sister, Donna, and brother, Rodney, their family moved to Ellsworth, WI where he grew up. He graduated from Ellsworth High School with the class of 1958. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army Reserves.

On September 5, 1964 he was united in marriage to Jean F. Kallberg in Mankato, MN, and their marriage would be blessed with three children: Sean, Paul, and Tracey.

On June 1, 1965, he began his career at 3M-Chemolite in Cottage Grove, MN. There he dedicated 35 years of faithful service before retiring at the end of 1999. Rollie was a proud Mason since 1981, obtaining the Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Shriner status. He was also a Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star #116.

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising American Black and Tan Coonhound dogs. His smile and the “Mack” laugh will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, children: Sean (Dawn) Krauss, Paul Krauss, Tracey (Bill) Jenkinson; grandchildren: Keera, McKenna, and Tressa Krauss, Dylan and Austin Krauss, Brannan and Calla Jenkinson; siblings, Donna Kruger and Rodney (Jean A.) Krauss; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Don Kruger.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 4pm – 7pm Friday, December 18, 2015 at Bethel Lutheran Church – Highlands Campus, 504 Frontage Rd., Hudson, WI. A Masonic service will be held at 7pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015, with a gathering one hour prior to the service at the church. A private interment will be at St. Paul’s UCC Church Cemetery in Ellsworth, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Twin Cities Shrine Hospital for Children. The family wishes to thank the staff of Comforts of Home – Hudson, and St. Croix Hospice services for their gentle care of Rollie and his family.
