Ronald C. Johnson

Ronald Clark Johnson, age 78 of Ellsworth WI, died on Thursday evening, January 7, 2021. Ron was born January 17, 1942 in Hawthorne CA to parents Clark and Dorothy (Stull) Johnson. Ron moved with family to the Ellsworth area, where he attended school, graduating from Ellsworth High School with the Class of 1960. Ron enlisted and served his country in the United States Navy. On January 15, 1966, Ron was united in marriage to Marlys Ann Jansa. Their union in marriage would be blessed with five sons, and over 54 years of love and devotion.

Ron furthered his education by earning his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He spent over 34 years working for 3M in Cottage Grove before retiring in 1996. Ron also served as a member of the Trimbelle Township Board, and with the Knights of Columbus Council 5456. He had a long held passion for all kinds of old cars, especially Buicks, and enjoyed time spent outdoors, hunting, fishing, and farming.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marlys; his sons, Scott Johnson, Michael Johnson, Brian (Melissa) Johnson, and Graig Johnson; grandson, Brett Johnson; brother, Jerry (Carol) Johnson; sisters, Kathy Bjornson, and Dori Goss. Ron was preceded in death by his infant son, Lucas Johnson; his parents; and faithful companions, his beagles Annie and Andy.

Services honoring the life of Ron Johnson will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021, at the St. Francis Catholic Church, 231 W. Woodworth St. in Ellsworth. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, followed by a private family Mass at 11:00am. Burial with military honors will be held at the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Memorials honoring Ronald C. Johnson may be directed to the discretion of his family.
