Ronald Michael Star Britton age 73, of Hager City, WI passed away peacefully Saturday April 24, 2021 at his residence in Hager City. He was born to Donald and Ruth (Lynch) Britton on September 3, 1947 in Spring Valley, WI. Ronald married the love of his life Velma O’Bryan on May 26, 1969 their union blessed them with two children, Billie Jo and Troy. Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. Ronald worked for more than 20 years for United States Postal Service finally retiring in 2005.

Ron was a family man he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and activities with his grandchildren. He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors, but most of all he enjoyed talking! He could go anywhere and talk with anyone. When he wasn’t talking, he was reading a good book! One of his passions in life was to read, He also enjoyed watching westerns and professional wrestling. He also treasured the time he spent with his nephews Tim and Marty.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife Velma; children: Billie Jo Britton and Troy (Linda) Britton; grandchildren: Kelsi, Logan, Isabella, Bo; and great-grandchildren: Ariah and Alaynah. He was preceded in death with his parents: Donald and Ruth Britton; parents-in-law: Lloyd and Opal O’Bryan; siblings: Bonnie Hanson and Ricky Britton.

A visitation will be held 4:00- 8:00pm Friday, May 7, 2021 at O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home 130 North Grant Street, Ellsworth, WI. At 5:00pm military honors will be presented by the Ellsworth Kinne-Engelhart American Legion – Post 204.
