Ronald Wayne Hecker, age 77 of Hudson, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 18, 2019.

Ron was born on November 1, 1941 in Red Wing, MN, to parents, Lewis and Joyce (Anderson) Hecker. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and on June 15, 1973, he was united in marriage to Darlene (White) Casa De Calvo in Watertown, SD. Ron worked for 25 years at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Stillwater, and retired as Captain in 2000.

Ron was a kind man who was willing to bend over backwards to help anyone out. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was blessed with a good sense of humor. In his younger days, he was fond of playing softball, entering pool tournaments, going pan fishing and hunting for deer and small game. He was an avid Vikings and Twins fan. Ron was a faithful christian and appreciated the teachings of television evangelist Jimmy Swaggart.

Ron will remain in the hearts of his beloved wife of 45 years, Darlene; children, Kimberly Casa De Calvo, Tim Casa De Calvo Jr., Mitchell Hecker, Tamora Hecker, Brenda (Craig) Franklin, and Lori Scott; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Sherrill Somora, Bruce Hecker; uncle, Gary (Patty) Anderson; brothers/sisters-in-law Janice (Denny) DeLeo, Gloria Turner, Eugene White, Harvey (Marguerite) White, Les Turner, Janice White, Martie White, Bud Meldahl, and Jerry Somora.

A Funeral Service celebrating Ron’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23rd at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, WI. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment at Willow River Cemetery, Saturday, March 30th at 12pm (noon). Memorials preferred.
