Rose Ann Ostertag, age 90 of Hudson died Thursday March 3, 2011 at the Hudson Hospital. Rose Ann was born on January 31, 1921 in St. Paul, Minnesota; the daughter of Patrick and Mary (Hayford) Conroy. She attended the Cathedral Parochial School prior to attending Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul. On November 29, 1941, she was united in marriage to Eugene Ostertag at St. James Catholic Church in St. Paul. Rose Ann loved the fellowship of others. She had a gift of gab; however she claimed she was shy…. She sincerely cared about others. She enjoyed her time volunteering at the Christian Community Home and the Hudson Hospital. She took great pride in being an original creator of a telecare program and received its 25 year award. She also enjoyed flowers and pressing them into keepsakes, cooking and baking; especially blueberry pies, and showing off her Irish heritage.

Rose Ann will remain in the hearts of her children Tom (Fran) Ostertag of St. Paul, Gene (Jean) Ostertag of Hudson, Marty Ostertag (Mickie Decker) of Roberts, Mike (Terri) Ostertag of Spring Valley; grandchildren Chris (Julie) Hubbell; Chris Ostertag; Melissa (Matt) Deckert; Rebecca (Greg) Anderson; Matt (Jenn) Ostertag; Katie Ostertag; Michaela Ostertag; Krissy Ostertag; Sarah Ostertag; great grandchildren Emma, Grace, Joe, Leela, Matthew, John, Aiden, Madison, Nathan; sisters Ellen McClellan of Hastings, Mary Bettenburg of West St. Paul, brother Del (Jan) Conroy of Woodbury, Rose Ann’s special friend, Lamoyne Smothers, as well as her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene, daughter Gerry, brother Francis “Bud”, and sister Pat Rother.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM TUESDAY MARCH 29th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be WEDNESDAY MARCH 9th from 4 to 7PM with a prayer service at 7PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson and one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred.
