Rosella Tronnier

Rosella M. Tronnier, age 86, died peacefully February 23rd, 2020 at her home in Prescott, WI. Rosie was born March 8th, 1933 in Prescott to Henry and Anna (Marek) Hildebrandt and raised by Henry and Josie (Torgerson).

Rosie grew up on a dairy farm and graduated from Prescott High School in 1952. She moved to St. Paul where she worked for Brown & Bigelow and later worked at the window shutter factory in Prescott.

Rosie married her high school sweetheart, Richard (Dick) L. Tronnier, on September 24th, 1955. She was employed by “Minnesota Mining” while Dick pursued barber school. While raising their four children, Rosie held various jobs including a hat check girl at the Steamboat Inn, a cook at St. Joseph’s school, and she ran a senior citizens’ lunch program at the United Church of Christ. She was a custodian at Prescott schools; first at the high school while her children attended and then at the elementary school while her grandchildren were there.

Rosie enjoyed watching her children’s and grandchildren’s events; she spent countless hours in gyms and at the baseball field. More than anything, she loved spending quality time with her family. She liked to lay on Tybee Island beach with them around her. For 34 years, Rosie and Dick, together with their family, owned and operated Papa Tronnio’s Pizza. She had a special way of weaving her family into her work. She taught them how to work hard and find the joy in working together. Rosie was also a devout member of St. Joseph’s Church.

Rosie was preceded in death by her biological parents Henry and Anna, stepmother Josie Hildebrandt, and brothers and sisters Lester, Donald, Emmett, Leona, Dorothy, Mary, Ginny, Madge, Jane, and Debbie.

Rosie is survived by her loving husband Dick; children Terre’e (Kevin) Langer, Becky Keene, Marty (Julia) Tronnier, and Tina (Joe) Brookshaw; 11 grandchildren Holly and Katie Langer, Dickie (Liz) and Gretchen Keene and Libby (Nick) Taschner, Bobby, Lila and Gabe Tronnier, and Billy, Michael and Peter Brookshaw. Rosie is also survived by her sister Bonnie (Jerry) Miki; and brother Chuck Hildebrandt; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial for Rosie will take place 11:00 am Thursday, February 27, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 269 Dakota St. S., Prescott, with Fr. George Szews officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held starting at 9:00 am until the start of Mass at church. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Old Ptaceks Event Center in Prescott.
