Rosemary Ann Dusek, age 75, died peacefully at Comforts of Home in Hudson, WI on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Rosemary grew up in St. Paul, MN off of West 7th Street. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1965 and worked at Woolworth’s. She met her husband, Paul, when they stood up together at her cousin Sandy Crain’s wedding to Paul’s brother Leo Dusek. The couple married in 1966 and made their home on the family farm in River Falls, WI. As Rosemary would say, “I became a farmer’s wife and Marie (Dusek) taught me how to clean a chicken”.

In the early years, Rosemary bowled on a bowling team, snowmobiled with her husband and neighbors Bill and Nancy Clausen and was active at St. Bridget’s Church helping clean the fish in the school gymnasium for the Friday fish Fry dinners back when those were commonplace. Rosemary was a housewife, worked different jobs in food service, and was an avid garage saler (it got to the point, she could tell by the address listed on the paper, whether it was worth stopping by or not).

Rosemary enjoyed getting family together and cooking large meals that most likely were hot Italian dagos with red sauce and spaghetti. She enjoyed spending time with family especially at weddings and during the dance was not afraid to pull people out on the dance floor to polka. She also made multiple trips with family members to Hawaii to visit her brother, Jim.

She absolutely loved being a grandmother, proudly wearing shirts declaring, “My grandchildren are the apple of my eye” and carrying pictures in her purse to show off her grandchildren at any time. Her house was stocked with toys, extra clothes, chewing gum and favorite treats for those times when the grandchildren were over.

When her husband’s health was declining, they made the decision to move into town; where Rosemary thrived. She volunteered at Treasures from the Heart sorting donated clothing and helping at the local food shelf as well as being active at St. Bridget’s church. At some point, Rosemary’s health began to decline and she had to move to Comforts of Home for regular care. She will be greatly missed.

Rosemary is survived by her children Lisa (Tom) Jones, Wayne (Polly) Dusek, and Amy (Travis) Liebl; grandchildren Colton, Travis and Tyler Jones; Olivia and Sophia Dusek and, Diana Liebl; great-grandson Brooks Jones; and brother Jim (Janine) Crain. She was preceded in death by husband Paul, siblings Bob Crain, Glen Crain, and Frank Crain and parents, Glenn and Celia Crain.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am Friday, August 5, 2022 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church: 211 S Division St. River Falls, WI 54022 with Fr. Joe Stefancin officiating. A visitation will start 9:30am until the start of Mass. Burial will be at St Bridget’s Cemetery.
