Ruth L. Lang, age 93 of Hammond WI, died on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. Ruth was born in Sargent County, North Dakota on June 20, 1918 to Charles and Hazel (White) Stewart. Her family moved very often, and Ruth moved with her family from North Dakota to Turtle Lake WI when she was in the 4th grade. She later graduated from Warren Union High School in 1937.

Ruth was united in marriage to Charles W. Lang on June 6, 1940. Reverend Norby of Baldwin performed the ceremony at his home. This union in marriage would be blessed with three children; Mary Ruth, who died at birth, Judith and James. Charles passed away after 67 years of marriage.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Judith Trunnell; son James Lang Sr.; grandsonsJay Trunnell and Jimmy Lang Jr.; great-grandson, Alexander Lang; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles “Chuck” Lang; infant daughter, Mary Ruth; great-grandson, Cody Lang; father, Charles Stewart; mother and step-father, hazel and Jens Frederickson; sister, Ruby Dull; and brother, Lowell Stewart.

A Memorial Service for Ruth Lang will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin, with Pastor John R. Hanson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin WI. 715-684-3434
