Sally M. Willmarth

Sally Marie Willmarth age 64 of River Falls, Wisconsin died Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the Hudson Hospital following a long-time battle with COPD followed by lung cancer. Sally was born on October 16, 1959 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; the daughter of Kenneth and Betty (Gorkowski) Krall. She was raised in Eau Claire attending elementary and high school. Sally would be blessed with the birth of her two children; Tara and Scott. Determined to take care of her children, she would further her education at Chippewa Valley Technical College where she earned her associates degree in accounting. Sally was both self-driven and determined to raise her children while beginning a career in the accounting division at Ecolab in the Twin Cities.  She enjoyed her time spent at Ecolab, but unfortunately a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes caused an early retirement when she was only 41.

Although this brought many challenges, it did not stop her from enjoying the moments that made her heart smile. Where others may take the outdoors for granted, she appreciated every moment she could out in it. Yard word and tending to her flower baskets was a high priority as she knew bright blooms would bring in the hummingbirds. Their dancing and acrobatic flying kept her occupied for hours. When she was much younger, she had fun memories camping and was a pretty good shot when bow hunting! More recently, she found pleasure in working on her Paint by Numbers. She looked forward to her arts and crafts and shared them whenever she could. Undoubtedly, her favorite season was Christmas as she had a room full of decorations just waiting to be brought out to display. Without any hesitation, her beloved grandsons brought her the ultimate happiness. Watching them grow up and going to their school events was the joy of her life.

Those who will hold her closely in their hearts are her children Tara (Adam) Rohl, Scott Willmarth; grandsons Cody, AJ, Braeden; siblings Cathy (Tom) Jochum, and Larry Krall. Her parents and brother David Krall precede her in death.

A private celebration of life was held at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of River Falls. Burial in the family plot will be in the Northland Lutheran Cemetery in Eau Claire. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Cremation and memorial services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of River Falls.
