Sandra ‘Sandy’ Ptacek

Sandra Ethelyn Ptacek age 85 of Prescott died September 22, 2023 at United Hospital in Saint Paul. Sandy was born on August 20, 1938 in Saint Paul, Minnesota; the daughter of Alton and Helen (Bottolfson) Larson. She was raised in Prescott where she graduated from high school. On March 20, 1958 she was united in marriage to her best friend and soulmate Wayne N Ptacek at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prescott. This union was blessed with four children.

She loved being a mom and raising her children in Prescott. Following retirement, Sandy and Wayne moved to Webster where they purchased a home on Austin Lake. Although a new home, they were very familiar with Austin Lake as the family members have had a cabin there since 1951. As a result, many memories were created with Sandy, Wayne and the children with boating, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling, which she loved to do. Following Wayne’s death seven years ago, she moved back to Prescott to be near her family.

She will remain in the hearts of her sons Jeff (Jill) Ptacek of Ellsworth, Wayne Ptacek of Prescott, Greg (Todd Janisch) Ptacek of Ramsey, Minnesota; five grandchildren, 11. Great grandchildren; sister, Renee (Jim) Most of Prescott. Her parents, husband Wayne, and daughter Julie proceed her in death.

A celebration of life for Sandy Ptacek will be Wednesday, September 27,2023 at The Ptacek’s Old Event Center in Prescott from 11 AM to 1 PM with a brief time of sharing at 1 PM. Burial will follow in the Pine Glen Cemetery. Cremation and Memorial Services have been in Trusted to The O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Prescott.
