Scott Foslien

Scott Foslien, age 49 of Hudson WI, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his residence. Scott was born on January 14, 1961 in Minneapolis, MN to parents Floyd and Frances (nee Wagner) Foslien. Scott was a graduate of Stillwater High School, and attended Century College to pursue a degree in drafting. Scott was united in marriage on June 4, 2005 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church to Mary Jo Block.

Scott worked as a CAD Draftsman with Helical Dynamics Engineering of Plymouth MN. Outside of work, Scott enjoyed woodworking projects in his shop, reading poetry, working on crossword puzzles, and reading civil war history by David McCullough, a favorite author of his. Scott was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins, and always enjoyed the rivalry between the Packers and the Vikings. Scott listened to all kinds of music, from the ragtime music of Scott Joplin, to the rock-n-roll of Def Leppard. Scott was an avid fan of watching both Sponge Bob, and the Simpsons. Scott also worked hard to win the further affection of his grandson, Logan, by telling him “knock-knock” jokes. Though Scott is gone, his smile, and the smiles he brought to others, will live on in the memories his loved ones hold dear.

Scott is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; his sons, Jon (Amber) Foslien, and Bobby Foslien; his daughter Samantha (fiancé Josh Lockwood) Foslien; grandson Logan Lockwood, and another grandchild on-the-way; his parents, Floyd and Fran Foslien; sisters, Sonja (Jim) Johnson, and Peggy (Pete) Skinner; nephews, Billy Johnson and Floyd Johnson; step-daughters Amanda (Jean-Jacques) Erasmus, and Meghan Block; his former wife and mother to his children, Dianna Paulson; as well as numerous other relatives and good friends. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reuben and Mildred Foslien, and John and Ella Wagner.

Funeral Services for Scott Foslien will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Hudson, with Pastor Brian Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at church, and also from 3:00-6:00PM on Sunday AT CHURCH. Scott will be laid to rest in the West Moe Cemetery in Alexandria MN at 3:00PM on Monday. Billy Johnson, Floyd Johnson, Kevin Timm, Josh Lockwood, Jim Johnson, and Pete Skinner have the honor of serving as his casketbearers. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI. 715-386-3725.
