Scottie Roberts

Scottie D. Roberts, age 49 of New Richmond WI, and formerly of Hammond WI and Spencer WV, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at his residence. Scottie was born March 28, 1961 in Spencer WV to parents Ray and Mary (Suttle) Roberts. Scottie was united in marriage on September 3, 1993 in Minneapolis MN to Emma Lorence.

Scottie worked for many years with Holiday Companies as a Petroleum Driver, driving fuel tankers to supply their stores. Whether fishing or riding his motorcycle, Scottie enjoyed being outdoors. Scottie was also an avid NASCAR fan who especially liked watching the legendary Dale Earnhardt race. When others needed a hand fixing or repairing something, Scottie was a great friend. He enjoyed working on things, as well as doing remodeling projects on his house. Scottie had spent years collecting knives, and had a collection that he was very proud of. Most of all, though, Scottie loved being a devoted husband to his wife, Emma. His love and kindness will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.

Scottie is survived by his wife, Emma; son, Jeff (Ollie Cooley) Roberts; daughter, Ashley Sidwell; grandsons, Ethan and Mason; parents, Ray (Mary) Roberts; brothers, Don (Tammy) Roberts, and Mike (Dinah) Roberts; sister, Cheryl (Keith) Bennett; brother-in-law, Kenny Lorence; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. Scottie was preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents-in-law.

Visitation for Scottie Roberts will be held at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin WI on Wednesday, October 20th from 5:00-8:00PM, with an 8:00PM Prayer Service. Graveside services and burial will take place in Spencer WV. Services have been handled locally through the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin WI, 715-684-3434.
