Selma Elizabeth Johnson, age 96, of Prescott, WI died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehab. Community, Prescott, WI.Selma was born on August 22, 1918 in Gilman, WI the daughter of Carl and Johanna (Johnson) Jahr.She married Durell Johnson in 1939. They lived most of their lives in Pierce and St. Croix Counties and moved to Prescott, WI in 1954. They both worked for Hudson Mfg., Hastings, MN until retiring in 1974. From 1974 until 1992 they lived in New Richmond, WI, and then moved back to Prescott.Selma enjoyed their Buck Lake home with family and friends and her many years of travel to Alaska to visit her son Duane and family. For 15 years she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Fred, where she enjoyed doing laundry and watching grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In June of 2012 she moved to the Prescott Nursing and Rehab. Community.She is survived by: Sons, Duane (Mary) Johnson, Soldotna, AK; Don (Marvis) Johnson, Ellsworth, WI; Jerry (Karen) Johnson, Siren, WI; Dick (Marleen) Johnson, Lee High Acres, FL; and daughter Sharon (Fred) Mercord, Prescott, WI. 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.Selma was preceded in death by: Her husband, parents, grandson Jamie Lynn Johnson, brother Curtis Jahr, sister Helen Larson, and nephew, Dennis Jahr and great-nephew Dan Larson.Selma generously, and selflessly gave her body to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for anatomical study and medical research.Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Prescott, WI is assisting the family with the arrangements.
