Sheila M. (Fleischauer) Utech

Sheila Mangilaya (Fleischauer) Utech, age 37, of Hudson WI, formerly of South St. Paul, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 2, 2015.

Sheila was born on November 9, 1977 in Zambales, Philippines, the daughter of Kevin and Lolly (Mangilaya) Fleischauer. Sheila’s family moved to MN in 1978 where she grew up and graduated from South St. Paul High School (class of 1996). She later earned her Associates Degree in Small Business Finance from the University of Phoenix. Sheila was united in marriage to Chris Utech in 1998, divorced and reunited in marriage, by the grace of our Lord Jesus, on November 11, 2011. They are blessed with one son, Tristan in 1999. Sheila worked as a Customer Appeals Manager on the Executive Response Team at AT&T.

Ever since she was a little girl, Sheila loved to dance, enjoying tap, jazz, and ballet. She was on her High School Dance Team and also participated in swimming, diving, and track. Sheila enjoyed teaching dance and was an Assistant Instructor at Julianne’s Dance Center in South St. Paul.

Sheila had a strong faith in God, and was an active member of Cornerstone Church in Hudson, WI. She lived out her faith daily in her relationships with the people around her. Whether sharing the Word of God with those imprisoned, sharing a cup of coffee at the weekly women’s meeting, or taking home first prize in the annual Chilifest, Sheila’s warmth was felt by all she touched. Even throughout her brave fight with Cancer, her passion for Christ shined through to all around her.  When asked of the legacy that she wanted to leave, Sheila stated, “Hope, because God is Good, God is Real.”
