Shelly Johnstone

Shelly Anna Johnstone, age 64, of Hudson, passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2025.

Shelly was born on October 25, 1960 to Benjamin and Marie (Bucek) Pahl in Prior Lake, MN. It was there where she later met her soulmate and the love of her life; Edwin Johnstone IV. The two were united in marriage on June 29, 1991.

Shelly and Edwin began their lives in Lakeville, MN proudly raising six beautiful children together. In 2000 they relocated to Esko, MN as a family. Food service continued to be a passion of Shelly’s, and she spent another decade proudly serving lunch to hundreds of children in the K-12 Esko School District. In 2011, Shelly, Edwin and their children relocated once more to Hudson, WI. Shelly was a highly valued and loved team member in the deli at County Market before retiring in 2024.

The one thing that meant the world to her was family. She adored her husband, children and grandchildren more than life itself. Shelly will always be remembered by her vibrant infectious smile, genuine pure heart, and her nurturing spirit. Some of her favorite hobbies were tending to her flower garden, growing vegetables and herbs or collecting unique house plants. Everyone blessed to know her will dearly miss her passion for experimenting with baked desserts as she would often share her delicious creations with those she loved.

Shelly is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Edwin Johnstone IV, children Dawn (Arthur) Moore, Sarah (Michael) Schletz, Penny (Gustav) Anderson, Edwin (Samantha) Johnstone, Courtney (Jorge) Johnstone, and Holly (Ryan) Waterhouse, as well as her twelve grandchildren, and ten siblings.

Shelly was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Marie (Bucek) Pahl, her brother Bruce (Barb) Pahl, and her beloved twin sister, Sherry (Bruce) Bergeron.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at 3:00 p.m.
