Shirley Cari, age 91, of Hudson, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2020 at Christian Community Home in Hudson. Shirley was born on October 4, 1929 to parents Henry and Jessie (Brandsma) Benjamin. She grew up in Chicago, IL and graduated from Parker High School. She was united in marriage to Sam Cari and they were blessed with three children.

Before retiring to Hudson, Shirley had a long and fulfilling career at Brother Rice High School where her last position held was development director. Her greatest joy in life was being with people and making meaningful connections with others. She was most proud of being a mom, grandma and great grandma and will be greatly missed by her children Sam (Teresa) of Hudson and Susan (Scott) Larson of Burnsville; grandchildren Ryan (Camille), Daniel (Sondra), Katy (Jeremy), Sam Jr. (Erin), Kristin (Seth) and 18 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Sam; son Scott; grandson Brian and siblings Lynn Benjamin, Raymond Benjamin, Evelyn Gieffers, and Dorothy Shearer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson. Private Interment at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Brother Rice High School. https://www.brotherrice.org/ways-to-give/
