Stanley Wynveen

Stanley H. Wynveen, age 86, went to his heavenly home on Oct. 17, 2017 while at the Baldwin Care Center. He was born at home to George and Esther (Simmelink) Wynveen on March 17, 1931, the first of 7 children. He attended Lincoln Country School for 8 years, then graduated from Baldwin High School in 1949. After his father’s death in 1947, with the help of his mother and brothers, he took over running the farm until 1957 when the farm was sold. He then went to work at NorLake in Hudson. Later he worked at Heebink’s Lumber and Millwork in Baldwin until he retired. After retirement, Stan was often seen around town as he was an avid walker, walking 4-6 miles a day. And he enjoyed his Thunderbirds.

He was baptized and made profession of faith in the First Reformed Church in Baldwin. He faithfully attended services every Sunday until his health prevented him at age 85. Over the years, he served as Sunday School Treasurer, Trustee, and Deacon.

He is survived by his brothers, David (Rosalind) Wynveen from Menomonie, Jim (Barb) Wynveen from Fresno, CA, Mick (Joyce) Wynveen from Baldwin, sister Georgia (Willie) Mrosla from Minneapolis, MN, sister-in-law Sharon Wynveen from Woodville, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Joey, brother John, nieces Deb Turner, Pam DeLong, and Jodi Wynveen.

Funeral services will be held at First Reformed Church in Baldwin at 11:00 on Sat., Oct.21 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service and 3:00-5:00 pm on Fri., Oct. 20 at O’Connell Funeral Home in Baldwin.
