Steven Crabtree, age 67, passed away December 29, 2022. Steve known by “Pa” to many was born May 2, 1955 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Robert and Bonna (Root) Crabtree. In 1985, after eleven years together, Steve tied the knot with the love of his life, Rosemarie (Schwartz) Crabtree. Their marriage blessed them with two boys, Steven A. and Gary.

“Pa” was a man of many talents and few words. He loved spending time with his family, which included his dog Zeus. He and Zeus took daily morning walks around the property just taking in the air. It wasn’t often Steve could be found without something to do, he enjoyed keeping busy and getting things done. Outside he would work in the garage or the garden and inside he liked to work on house projects. Even when “Pa” took a moment to sit still, he kept busy by reading books or watching the birds gather around his many feeders. Steve was always a hardworking man, stubborn and determined to get things done. His determination helped him create a business as a finishing carpenter and he spent many years doing what he loved. In 2005 “Pa” retired his business and took on woodworking as a hobby. “Pa” will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Steve is Survived by his wife of 48 years: Rose; sons: Steven (Brittany), Gary (Kaylah); grandchildren: Carson (Mackenzie), Lucas, Abigail, Zachary, Emmett, Rosalie, Garrison, Gideon; Sister: Sara (Brian) Backlund; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Bonna; siblings: Robert Jr., Mary Jane, and Cindy; along with daughter: Little Rose.

A celebration of life for Steve will be held at 10:30a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Bethel Covenant Church, W8405 County Rd KK, Ellsworth, WI.
