Steven M. Alberg, age 68, beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, son, and brother died peacefully September 15th, 2021 at his home in North Hudson. Steve was born August 29, 1953 in St. Paul, Minnesota; the son of Edwin and Helen (Norton) Alberg. He attended St. Pascals Parochial School prior to graduating from Stillwater High School. On April 28, 1972, he married his best friend and love, Diane Lynn Bussiere at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Oakdale. This unity was blessed and further rewarded with five children.

As a young boy, Steve admired the railroad. He was fascinated with the big locomotives and knew early, he would drive them someday. He followed his passion, led by a strong work ethic, and began a forty-two year career with the railroad as an engineer and mentor to future engineers. Steve was a builder. Builder of relationships and community. An active parent and number one fan at his children and grandchildren’s school, athletic and artistic events.

Steve truly appreciated the beauty of God’s country.  He enjoyed jumping on his Road King with Diane and finding new roads that hadn’t yet traveled. Furthermore, they loved time spent at Pheasant Hills golfing with friends and enjoying their favorite beverage at the clubhouse after. On the other hand, a quiet day at home with the kids and grandkids always brought big smiles and memories. Mowing the lawn gave him tranquility and grilling brats brought him a full stomach. He took great pride in his faith and made sure his children were raised in a Christian environment.  

Steve will forever remain in the hearts of his wife and soul mate Diane; loving children Michelle Alberg, Nichole Alberg, Ben Alberg, Kathryn (Tina Pint) Alberg, Danielle Alberg; grandchildren Tyler, Trey, Isaac, Elias; great granddaughter Alannah; his beloved mother Helen Alberg; siblings Chris (John) Eisenchenk, Patty (Rob) Trulen, Cindy (Richard) Naessen, Joe (Judy) Alberg, John (Laura) Alberg, Laurie (Terry) Alberg, as well as many nieces and nephews. His father Edwin and sister Mary Alberg precede him in death.

Mass of Christian Burial for Steven Alberg will be 11AM, Wednesday September 22nd at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with his children having the honor of pallbearers. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 21st from 4pm to 6pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson as well as one hour prior to the mass at church Wednesday morning. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family.
