Susan A. Hartl

Susan Hartl, age 66 of Flagler Beach, FL, formerly of North Hudson, WI, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2017 in Star Prairie, WI.

Sue was born October 24, 1950 in Thorp, WI. She was the youngest of 10 children for Edward and Christina (Petersen) Zarada. She grew up in Thorp and graduated from Thorp High School. After high school she went on to marry the love of her life, Floyd “Bud” Hartl, on November 26, 1968. The couple were married for 46 years, and blessed with three sons. Together they owned and operated St. Paul Tire, Inc. from 1991 to 2012, before retiring to Flagler Beach, FL.

Family was very important to Sue and she cherished hers. She adored all of her grandchildren and relished in spending time with them. Sue was extremely outgoing and was always making new friends. She loved traveling and found relaxation while sitting at the beach. Sue was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Hudson, WI.

Sue is survived by her sons; Chad (Belinda), David (Dawn) and Matt (Lisa); grandchildren; Amanda, Jenna, Michelle, Kayla, Ty, Thomas, Rebecca and Jonathon; great-granddaughter, Susan; siblings, Gerry Karlen, Ellen Arreguin, Irene Chronister, Dick Zarada, Bob Zarada, Frank Zarada, and John Zarada; sisters-in-law, Bonita Sperling, Ruth Mitchell and Judy Hartl; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd “Bud”, daughter, Jill; her parents; and siblings, Tom Zarada and Edith Sprick.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Bethel Lutheran Church – Downtown Campus, 920 3rd Street, Hudson, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Private interment at Willow River Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
