Susan Anne Fox, age 72 of Hudson, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 with her daughter by her side. Susan was born January 2, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN; the daughter of Harold and Florence (Swanson) Scharf. Susan was united in marriage on October 12, 1962 to Douglas Fox. Their marriage was blessed with twin boys, Daniel and Donald, and a daughter, Julie. Susan worked as a legal secretary for Washington County until her retirement in 2006.
Susan touched many peoples lives in many different ways. In addition to being active in the community, she enjoyed playing Scrabble and Wii with her family and friends. She took pleasure in crocheting, knitting and cooking. Susan also enjoyed her time on her computer – making good use of social media by keeping in touch with her friends. Susan valued her friendships and cherished her time with everyone in her life. Susan also had a special place in her heart for her pets and was a loving caretaker to them.
Susan will remain in the hearts of her sons, Dan (Paula) and their children, Christopher, Sarah and Cameron of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Don (Lisa Lussier-Fox) and their children, Nathan, Isaiah, Emylianne, Elayna, and Ava of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and daughter, Julie Fox (Roger Meyer) and Roger’s son, Chase of Hudson; brother, Owen (Suzanne) Scharf; and sister, Mary Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; infant grandson, Jonah Fox; brother, James Scharf; and brother-in-law, Richard Thompson.
A Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday, August 29th, with a prayer service and time of sharing at 7:00pm, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 11th Street S., in Hudson. Interment will be private at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, where her husband Douglas is laid to rest. Memorials are preferred.
