Sylvia Jean Heller, age 76 of River Falls, went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2014 at the River Falls Area Hospital.  Sylvia was born February 22, 1938 in Menomonie, WI, the daughter of Clyde and Ruth (O’Bryan) Amick.  She was united in marriage on June 13, 1955 to Donald Ray Heller.  Their marriage was blessed with five children:  Carol, Richard, James, Lisa and Kerry.  

 Sylvia had a gracious and kind heart, always caring for her family and others, especially caring for the elderly and disabled.  She worked as a nurses assistant at the Christian Community Home in Hudson, and as the Director of the Hudson Senior Center.  Sylvia’s connection to the elderly and disabled continued throughout the years in her work.  Sylvia cherished her time spent as caretaker for her daughter, Carol, who passed away in 2003.  In her quiet time, Sylvia enjoyed gardening, reading, and embroidery work.  Most important to Sylvia was her faith, her family, and her work.  

 Sylvia will remain in the hearts of her children, Richard (Jackie) Heller of Prescott, James Heller of River Falls, Lisa (Adam Lovell) Easland of Tennessee and Kerry (Terry) Farmer of North Carolina; grandchildren:  Jennifer (Keith) Gunderson, Jason Heller, Alisha (Joseph) Greer, Jacob (Emily) Lovell, Brittany Hudson and Isaac Cudd; sisters, Ida Easland and Margie Heller; and her beloved dog, Toto.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; daughter, Carol Jean Heller; siblings, Donny, Clifford, Maxine and two infant siblings.  

 A Visitation will take place 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, September 12, 2014 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.  Funeral services for Sylvia will take place 11:00 AM Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the River Falls Assembly of God Church, 605 Valley View Dr., with Reverend Mike Bechtold officiating.  Interment will take place at Irving Creek Cemetery in Menomonie.
