Thomas Dale Brown, age 87 of Hudson, WI, passed away peacefully July 1, 2017 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.
Tom was born on October 24, 1929 in Calhoun, MO, to his parents, Charles and Edna (Trogden) Brown. He was raised on his parents farm and graduated from high school in Clinton, MO, after which he joined the U.S. Army and was sent to Korea. He served his country from 1949 through 1952. After the war, Tom was married to Dorothy Lucille Rogers on April 25, 1952. He continued his education by obtaining numerous certifications in electrical engineering, and made a career of producing printed circuit boards. He started at Bendix Corp in Kansas City, and later moved to Minnesota to work at Fabri Tek, Harris Manufacturing, and Midwest Circuits as a manufacturing manager. The family moved to Santa Rosa, CA for two years in 1970-71, after which he returned to the midwest to work in Baldwin at CTS.
Later, Tom became an active member of United Methodist Church in Hudson, where he served on their Board of Directors and helped to develop the concept and implementation of Christian Community Homes.
Tom enjoyed golf and fishing. Tom also spent time teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish. After he retired, he spent many winters at Jekyll Island with his wife, Dorothy (now deceased), where they would golf and spend leisure time in the sun. He was a quiet and gentle man, usually preferring time alone over social activities. He deeply loved and will be missed by his children and grandchildren.
Tom will remain in the hearts of his children, Ross (Anna) Brown, Deborah (Carl) Anderson, Diana Baumer (Steve Kuepper), Dana (Bob) Wagner; grandchildren, Alex Verdoorn, Eric Verdoorn, Dawn Burgard, Stephen Kuepper, Bonnie Franzose, Sandra McNamer; great-grandchildren, Everett and Corinne Verdoorn, Charles and Emma Burgard, Cami Kuepper, Grace and Cody McNamer, Chloe and Aron Franzose; nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents; sister, Phyllis Goodson.
A private family gathering will be held. Interment at the Old Willow River Cemetery in Hudson, WI. Memorials preferred to the Salvation Army.
