Thomas Edward Lee, age 76, a lifelong resident of Prescott, passed away on September 16, 2024, at Comforts of Home in River Falls. Born on October 3, 1947, in Prescott, Wisconsin, he was the son of Kenneth and Doris (French) Lee. Tom grew up in Prescott, where he attended elementary school and graduated from Prescott High School in the class of 1965. He later attended the University of Wisconsin River Falls before enlisting in the United States Army.
Upon his return, Tom married his high school sweetheart, Michele Hunter, at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prescott on October 31, 1970. This union was blessed with three children: Thomas J., Anna, and Meghann.
For nearly 45 years, Tom owned and operated Lee Line Transportation, a bus and charter rental company in Red Wing. He loved bringing people together, providing safe transportation, and witnessing the pleasure of friends and family enjoying time together.
Family was everything to Tom. He cherished Michele and took great pride in their children and their accomplishments. While the children were growing up, the family created lasting memories through tent camping in Yellowstone National Park and renting a cabin near Webster on Webb Lake. Fishing, tubing, bonfires, and water skiing were just a few of the adventures they shared. He particularly looked forward to fishing for musky on Mallard Lake in the fall with his son Tom, while enjoying a Leinie’s while catching up on each other’s lives. He also looked forward to his trips to Canada fishing. Tom found joy in the outdoors, whether he was cutting wood for the fireplace or taking walks with Michele around Prescott. He appreciated life’s simple pleasures and embraced them fully. He also took pride in his community, serving on the Prescott Planning Commission for several years.
Tom is survived by his wife and best friend, Michele; his children, Thomas J. (Heather) Lee of River Falls, Anna (Jason) Lee-Andert of Prescott, and Meghann (Charlie Most) Lee of Prescott; his grandchildren, Tommy Lee, Jameson Andert, and Wilhelmina Most; his siblings, Kenneth L. “Dooley” Lee of Prescott, Kay (Ron) Hendrickson of San Diego, CA, and Cindy (Bill) Huppert of Prescott; along with several nieces and nephews. His parents precede him in death.
In accordance with his wishes, Tom was cremated. A Celebration of Life is being planned for spring, with details to be announced closer to the date. Interment will be private. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the loss of this special man. Memorials may be made at the family’s discretion and can be mailed to the funeral home.
Cremation and memorial services are entrusted to O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1339 Orrin Road, Prescott, Wisconsin 54021.
My sympathy to the Lee family and friends.

Such a complete shock. I last talked with Tom (Buckwheat) at our 50th-year High School reunion in 2015. We mostly talked about those, not at the reunion. Tom had a good word about everyone and was a very decent man. I’m so very sorry for the family’s loss. Please accept my condolences.
