Thomas “Tom” J. Hueffmeier, a fighter until the end, of Hudson, WI passed away Thursday October 12th, 2023 at age 74.

Tom was born August 26, 1949 in Saint Paul, MN to Thomas and Margaret (Griffin) Hueffmeier. After graduating high school, he went to college for a few years studying horticulture before turning to the workforce. He worked at Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant as a plant operator for 37 years.

On November 10, 2012, Thomas married the love of his life, Kelly Ilavsky at St. Patrick’s Church in Hudson. He quickly took Kelly’s daughters in as if they were his own. Tom is described as a kind, simple man who loved his family and was always mindful with everyone’s feelings around him. His three favorite places to be were a bookshop, a tattoo shop, and the gun range. In fact, Tom combined his values of faith, growth and health into his tattoos.

Tom is survived by his wife of ten years, Kelly Ilavsky; step-daughters, Sarah (Jesse) Ilavsky and Anna (Josh) Ilavsky-Gregerson; grandson, Milo Gregerson; sister, Beverly Hueffmeier; nephews, Scott (Diana) Tomlinson and Richard McKenna, sister-in-law Sharon McKenna; mother-in-law, Sally Hendrickson; and many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Hueffmeier; brother, Patrick McKenna; and niece Megan Tomlinson.

A visitation for Tom will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 1500 Vine Street, Hudson, WI, on Friday October 20, 2023 at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. A luncheon at the church will then be held prior to burial at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

Funeral services entrusted to O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.

  1. My thoughts are with the Tom’s family and friends. I was fortunate to work with him for many years, he was a great operator who gladly shared his knowledge with us and I used that training for many years, nobody knew that quagmire of piping in the tunnels like he did. It was a pleasure to know him.
