Thomas N. Kromer, age 83 of River Falls WI, died on Friday, April 15, 2016. Tom was born September 4, 1932 in Saint Paul MN to parents William and Eleanor (Thommes) Kromer. Tom attended Sacred Heart School, and graduated from Harding High. Tom furthered his education at St. Paul Vo-Tech. On December 27, 1952, Tom would be united in marriage to Janet Hansen. Their union in marriage would be blessed with eleven children, and over 63 years of love and devotion.

Tom was employed with 3M for over 34 years as a machinist, and eventually foreman and supervisor, before retiring in 1989. He was a recipient of 3M’s prestigious Circle of Technical Excellence Award. Outside of work, Tom enjoyed all things outdoors, including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and golfing. Tom also enjoyed bowling, and was a devout Green Bay Packers fan. Together with Janet, he also enjoyed traveling and trips, and wintering in Apache Junction AZ. Tom also loved bonfires, and 4th of July parties, and being with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet; children, Diane (Steve) Kinney, Tom (Barb) Kromer, Steve (Linda) Kromer, Deb (James) Piersiak, Dave (Colleen) Kromer, John (Jamie) Kromer, Joe Kromer, and Ken (Julie Braun) Kromer; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Luann (Don) Novotny; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patti; sons, Scott and Chuckie; his parents; and three brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Kromer will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 20th at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 211 E. Division Street in River Falls, WI with Rev. Fr. Jerry Harris officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30am at the church. A private family burial will be held at Willow River Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family.
