Timothy Donald Bennett, age 50, of Richland Center, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at his residence. Timothy was born on August 13, 1974, in Red Wing, Minnesota, the son of Donald and Alberta (Lovell) Bennett. Raised in Hager City, he attended Lindgren Elementary School and later River Falls High School.
Timothy was born with Down Syndrome. Although he lived with this special challenge, he had an extraordinary gift for making others feel special. His infectious laugh, unwavering kindness, and radiant personality could light up any room. His happiness was like a warm beam of sunshine, spreading to everyone around him. His loyalty to his family was unmatched, and he held a deep and abiding love for them. Timothy’s unique sense of character brought joy and authenticity to every gathering, especially at cabin vacations or during the holidays.
Timothy’s life was enriched by his participation in the Special Olympics, where he delighted in bowling and track and field events. He was immensely proud of the medals he earned. He loved fishing, savoring Culver’s cheeseburgers and hot fudge sundaes, and singing Garth Brooks at the top of his lungs while donning his cowboy hat and guitar. He also had a passion for dancing and took great pride in his lively moves, often charming everyone around him. A devoted sports fan, Timothy cheered enthusiastically for the Minnesota Twins and the Green Bay Packers.
Known for his outgoing nature, Timothy never met a stranger. He often introduced himself with, “Hi, I’m Tim Bennett. What’s your name?” To him, a stranger was simply a friend he hadn’t met yet. His sense of humor was infectious, teasing loved ones with a sly grin before breaking into a beaming smile and a hearty, belly-shaking laugh.
Timothy will forever be remembered and cherished by his brothers, Gregory (Kimberlee) Bennett and Jeffrey Bennett, as well as his niece and nephew, Hannah and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Alberta Bennett.
In his later years, Timothy was blessed to be cared for by loving people, especially Myra and Art Hanson of Sparta, WI, and more recently, Leah and the staff at Harmony House in Richland Center, WI. His family deeply appreciates the love and care these individuals provided. They are also grateful to his cardiac team, particularly Dr. Sue Maclellan, and to the St. Croix Hospice team, who offered compassionate care during his final days.
Funeral services for Timothy will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home: 225 South 3rd St. River Falls, WI 54022. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery in River Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to Run With the Cops, a Special Olympics program.

So sorry for your loss. I remember Tim from Handishop in Sparta, and recently where we both lived at Harmony Place in Richland Center. I remember he enjoyed coloring in coloring books. I will miss him. Praying for you.
