Troy James Rathai of Emerald, WI passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends. Troy was born April 3, 1961 to James Rathai and Avis Rathai Pitcher in Wells, MN.  He graduated from Wells High School in 1979 and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. Troy was a dry-waller by trade and worked in construction for many years. His last work experience was with his brother Todd of Pitcher Drywall.

Troy was a proud and active member of the American Legion Mattson-Miller Post 330 of Wilson, Wisconsin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and renovating “fixer-uppers”. His greatest pastime was spending time in the safe haven of his home.

Troy is preceded in death by his mother, Avis.

He is survived by his loving partner Rebecca Johnson and her son Sam; his daughter Lauren, Somerset, WI; father James, brother Tracy Rathai, sister Jill (Donald) Farley all of Wells, MN; brother Todd Pitcher, Somerset, WI; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., July 12, 2014 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, WI, with Pastor Curtis Thomassen of Cornerstone Assembly of God Church, New Richmond, officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m.
