Victor Howe

d. June 5, 2023

Victor Lee Howe, age 84 of Hager City, Wisconsin passed away peacefully June 5, 2023. He was born May 28, 1939 to Freda and Jess Howe.  Vic grew up in Trimbelle with two brothers and two sisters. It is here that he attended Alleyho school. After high school, he went to work at Red Wing Shoe factory, which eventually brought him to a plant in Santa Rosa, California. Vic left the Shoe Factory to serve in the US Army, he was stationed in Germany. When he came home from the Army, he worked with his Uncle Ray doing roofing work until starting work at Jacques Seed Co. Vic later retired from Jacques Seed as a machine mechanic.

After retirement, Vic was always working on something, including his jeeps, Harley’s and his lawnmower repair service. He helped out his friends and neighbors over the years with farm work and general work. He enjoyed slow drives and stopping into the station for coffee. Vic took great pride in keeping his lawn in pristine condition.

Vic met Rina Beach his life partner in 1966 and they remained together until her passing in 1998.

Vic was a memorable man. He was witty, honest and a straight shooter. He had an innate ability to read people and animals. He was well known for his storytelling. He’d be happy to know that his stories will live on for a long time.  Vic loved his Harleys and treasured many years of riding many miles all over the country with friends. Some of his great stories come from those trips. His main passion throughout life was hunting and fishing. He became an expert hunter by learning about and respecting the habits of the wild creatures around him. He had an incredible amount of knowledge and enjoyed teaching others.

He is survived by his stepson, Scott Beach; stepdaughter, Denise Beach Johnson Tiller; grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, and Rachel Beach, Travis Johnson, and Dustin Beach; several great grandchildren; brother Chuck Howe; and sister Judy Hull.

He was preceded in death by his life partner, Rina Beach; stepdaughter, Lynne Beach; parents, Jess and Freda Howe; brother, Fred Howe; and sister, Lorraine (Ann) Eichman.
