Warren Bazille

Warren Douglas Bazille, age 61 of Emerald, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014 after a struggle with cancer at the Baldwin Area Medical Center, surrounded by his family.  Warren was born August 21, 1953 in Baldwin, WI, the son of John E. Sr. and Dorothy (Lewis) Bazille.  He was the oldest of nine children.  Warren graduated from New Richmond High School with the Class of 1971.  He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Janette Leavens on May 1, 1976 at the United Methodist Church in New Richmond.  Their marriage was blessed with five children:  John, Steven, Jeffrey, Jennie and Sarah.

Warren farmed all of his life.  He was a simple man with a devotion to his faith, his family, and his farm. He had a love for the land, a pride in raising his pigs and cattle with his children and grandchildren, and a strong work ethic that he demonstrated so graciously to his family and all those around him. Warren’s commitment to farming was evident in his involvement in FFA and as a 4-H Leader for St. Croix County.   He earned the State Farmer Degree in FFA in 1971, and was one of the original members of the Meat Animal Committee. Together with Mary he was honored with the Living Memorial award in 1997 for his dedication to the St. Croix County 4-H program.  He was proud to see his grandchildren be the third generation of his family to be involved with 4-H.   Warren also worked at McMillan Electric Company as an Oven Operator for 17 years. He enjoyed playing cards, especially the game of five hundred, playing bean bags and watching his children and grandchildren play sports and going fishing.  Over the years he taught all five of his children to play the games he loved.   Warren was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, and he was always sure to make them feel as special as they are.

Warren will remain forever in the hearts of his loving wife of 38 years, Mary; his children, John (Holly) Bazille, Steve (Tauna Quinn) Bazille, Jeffrey Bazille, Jennie Bazille, and Sarah (Ryan) Woodford; his grandchildren, Kaylee, Jacob, Aden, Ethan, Mathew, Dazey, Katelynn, Remington and Ryleigh; his father, John Bazille Sr.; his siblings, Sue Brihn, John “Jack” Bazille Jr., Mark Bazille, Cindy Icard, Laurie Bazille, Julie (Richard) Ebler, Brad (Linda) Bazille and Beth (Jeff) Ziemer; special godson, Joe Stauner; dear friend, Deb Leithauser; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Warren leaves us to join in heaven his mother, Dorothy in 1991; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry (Lucille) Leavens; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don (Pat) Leavens, Betty Bossany, Marshall Icard and Steve Brihn.

A Celebration of Warren’s Life will take place 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the United Methodist Church, 240 E. Oak St., Glenwood City.   A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place one hour prior to services at church.  Private interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Emerald.
