Wiley Post, age 86, of Hammond passed away peacefully at his home on March 23, 2025. Wiley was born on December 23, 1938 to George & Emily (Pieper) Post. Through a marriage to Judy Gerhardt, he was blessed with four children: Tammy, Kim, Susan, and Wiley (Jr). That marriage was later dissolved.
Wiley spent his life farming which was his passion. A close second was polka music; he played in a band for many years playing the drums, concertina, accordion, and harmonica solely by ear. Wiley also loved International farm equipment, Chevy trucks, the Green Bay Packers, politics, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, which he often had plenty to share with his grand- and great-grandkids.
Over the years, Wiley’s family has grown to 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, (soon to be 7).
Wiley will forever remain in the hearts of his children: Tammy, Kim (Mike) Dubej, Susan (Curt) Dusek, and Jr (Emily) Post; grandchildren: Brandon, Brady, Mackenzie (Justin); Taylor, Parker, Kaleb; Mikaela, Derek (Bailey), Tanner (Paige), Logan (Talia), Gabriella; Rheanna, Izabella, Owen, Olivia, Karter, Julia; great grandchildren: Corbin, Charlie, Cooper, Caylee; Eleanor; Mavin; sisters: Audrey (Rod) Flatland and Sharolyn; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Wiley was preceded in death by his parents; brother Georgie; BIL Harvey Thomas; niece Amanda; SIL Mark Dusek; grandson Hunter Dusek.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin, Wisconsin on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 4 – 6 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m. A light meal will be provided by the family.
