William “Bill” J. Westerdahl, age 53, of Somerset, WI, formerly of Hudson, WI, passed away on June 29, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bill was born on February 4, 1960 in Hudson, WI to Carl and Judy (Larson) Westerdahl. He attended school in Hudson and graduated from Hudson High School. Following his schooling, he worked in Information Technology for the Andersen Windows Corporation. 

Bill was an avid hunter and Wisconsin football fan, especially the Packers and Badgers. He was also active in attending his childrens’ high school sports games. 

He is survived by his children, Lauren Westerdahl of Somerset, WI, and Andrew (Cynthia) Westerdahl of Coon Rapids, MN; siblings: Dee Dee (Lonnie) Millin of Hudson, WI, Mike Westerdahl of River Falls, WI, JoAnn (Ron) Pottebaum of Roberts, WI, Chad Westerdahl of Cottage Grove, MN, and Jerrolyn Harmon of Lake Elmo, MN; father, Carl (Anita) Westerdahl of River Falls, WI; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Judy. 

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will take place from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9th, 2013 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, with a prayer service taking place at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are preferred to the family.
