William Boecker

d. July 14, 2020

William “Bill” J. Boecker, age 84, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Ellsworth, WI and Winter, WI, passed away on July 14, 2020 in Hudson, WI with his family by his side.

Bill was born on February 10, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI to William and Wilhelmine (Brant) Boecker. Their family moved north to Winter, WI where he attended grade school and graduated from Winter High School. On May 12, 1956, he was united in marriage to Nancy L. Bell at the Church of Christ in Ladysmith, WI.  In 1971, him and his family relocated to Ellsworth, WI.  He lived in Ellsworth until 2019, when he and Nancy moved to Hudson, WI.

Bill was a devoted family man, avid fisherman and dog lover who enjoyed tending to his gardens. He regularly reminisced about his time owning a Mink ranch with his father in Winter, WI, and expressed great pride of his time in the U.S. Navy, especially when he was stationed in Hawaii. He loved his yearly family trips to Branson, MO, and frequently could be found painting or drawing.

Bill took an interest in physical fitness and was often reading books on health, even lifting weights up until a month before his passing. He was a fun-loving grandpa and great grandpa who enjoyed playful teasing with his grandchildren and relishing in all that they had going on in their lives. He was a gentle, friendly man who could make anyone smile with his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.

Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy; children: Kim (Jon) Kamrath, Vicki Danielson, and Diane Nelson; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Craig; parents; and sisters, Elaine, and Mary Jane.

Per the family’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held.
